Tilcor vs. DECRA
Both are stone-coated steel with similar weight. Tilcor's CF lines hide every fastener. DECRA has the bigger installed base and a Texas factory behind it through IKO. We'll show you both.
Going over shingles
Tilcor's CF Shingle is designed to go over an existing asphalt roof where code allows, which saves tear-off. We still inspect the deck before recommending it; see metal over shingles. Texas insurers must offer a premium credit for UL 2218 impact-rated roofs, but each company sets its own amount, and Class 4 earns the largest. We can't promise a discount; ask your insurer for their figure in writing. After a qualifying install we fill out TDI Form PC068 for you.
Residential warranty: a 10-year transferable workmanship warranty, with manufacturer warranties up to lifetime. Manufacturer coverage depends on the product and brand, and on the project qualifying for that manufacturer's program. We put the exact warranty for your roof in writing.
