Tile on Frisco homes
Frisco sits on State Highway 289 and Farm Road 720 about 30 miles north of Dallas, mostly in Collin County with a part in Denton County, and Census estimates show about 237,000 residents. Most of its housing went up in the last 25 years, and Mediterranean, Tuscan and Spanish-style custom homes in its golf-course and gated neighborhoods were often designed around concrete or clay tile. Many of those first roofs are now old enough that the underlayment beneath the tile is wearing out.
Repair, lift-and-relay or replace
| Option | When it fits |
|---|---|
| Spot repair | A few cracked or slipped tiles, a failed pipe flashing or a bad valley on a sound roof |
| Lift-and-relay | Tile is sound but the underlayment is failing. We remove and stack the tile, install new underlayment and flashing, and reset the same tile |
| Full replacement | Tile is broken widely or discontinued, or you want a new color or profile |

Concrete tile, clay tile and matching
Much of Frisco's tile is concrete, which costs less than clay and comes in many profiles but can fade and lose its surface over time. Clay holds its color for a very long time. When a profile or color has been discontinued, we look for current matches from makers such as Eagle, Westlake Royal and Ludowici, check salvage stock, and borrow tile from a hidden slope for visible repairs when nothing matches. HOAs usually want the color and profile approved first; we provide specs and samples.
Frisco reroof permits
The City of Frisco requires a reroof permit, and contractors must be registered with Frisco Building Inspections before most permits are issued. Frisco offers self-service permits when a roof is replaced with the same material; if the material is changing — for example, shingles to tile, which adds a lot of weight — the city asks you to check with Building Inspections first. A final inspection closes the permit. We handle the filing and confirm the current fee and steps for your job.
Hail around Frisco
NOAA's Storm Events Database lists 69 reports of hail 1.75 inches (golf-ball size) or larger within about 10 miles of Frisco from 2016 through September 2026, the largest 4.5-inch hail on March 24, 2019 near Allen. The most recent big report in the window was 2-inch hail near Carney, about 3.4 miles from Frisco, on June 2, 2026. Concrete tile can crack or lose its surface in large hail, and broken clay is easy to spot — but tile also breaks when someone walks it wrong. If you file an insurance claim, we document the damage and meet your adjuster on the roof. Texas law requires you to pay your deductible, and a contractor may not waive, absorb or rebate it. We never will.
How we inspect a roof you can't walk like a shingle roof
Slate and tile break under the wrong footstep, so a careless inspection can cause the damage it's looking for. We plan a walk path, step only where the pieces are supported, use roof ladders and pads where needed, and fly a drone over the areas that aren't safe to walk. Every inspection comes with a free digital photo report, so you see what we see. The report separates old breaks, fresh breaks and installation problems, because they lead to very different answers.
