Brands we install
DaVinci, Brava, EcoStar and other major synthetic slate brands. Each has its own color blends, tile widths and published impact and fire ratings. We help you pick one that fits your home, your HOA, and your insurer's list.
What to plan for
- Color blends. Most designs mix 2–4 colors. Order samples and look at them in your light.
- Steep, complex roofs. Slate looks best on steep hips and turrets, and those details take skilled hands.
- Underlayment and flashings per the manufacturer's specifications; we often use metal valleys and flashings.
- Insurance. Many synthetic slates carry Class 4 ratings. Texas insurers must offer a premium credit for roof coverings rated under UL 2218, but the Texas Department of Insurance says each company sets its own amount, and a Class 4 rating earns the largest credit. We can't promise a discount. Ask your insurer for their figure in writing before you choose. After a qualifying install we fill out TDI Form PC068 for you.
Residential warranty: a 10-year transferable workmanship warranty, with manufacturer warranties up to lifetime. Manufacturer coverage depends on the product and brand, and on the project qualifying for that manufacturer's program. We put the exact warranty for your roof in writing.
