Metal, specialty shingles and full siding replacement in Boyd
From our Decatur office we take on whole-roof and whole-house projects in Boyd and across Wise County. Our focus around Boyd is complete projects: a new metal roof, a premium shingle system, or all of the siding on the house.
- Specialty and designer shingles. Designer and luxury shingles and slate-look and shake-look shingles for homes where the roof is part of the look.
- Standing seam and other metal. 26-gauge standing seam, plus 26-gauge R-panel, stone-coated steel and metal shingles and tile. We form our standing seam panels in-house on our own roll formers and standing seam machine, and our own crew installs them.
- Premium shingle systems. Impact-rated shingle systems from the manufacturers we're certified with (GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning and Atlas). Class 3 is our minimum and Class 4 is available, with TDI Form PC068 for your insurer. Credits vary by company.
- Full siding replacement. Whole-house siding replacement, done with the roof, gutters, soffit and fascia in one project when you want everything to match.
Snow Roofing & Exteriors is A+ rated on the BBB. We do repair leaks and storm damage near Boyd too, and if a repair is all your roof needs, we'll tell you that first. See storm & hail inspections.
Boyd is booming
Boyd began in the early 1890s at a bend of the Trinity known as "Greasy Bend." The railroad arrived in 1893, the town took the name of H. S. Boyd, and it incorporated in 1895. Now it's the fastest-growing town in Wise County by percentage. Census estimates show 1,418 residents in the 2020 base and about 2,546 in 2025, roughly 80% growth. That means new homes, new shops and lots of barndominiums on acreage.
Boyd's 2024 hail
NOAA recorded 3-inch hail at Boyd on April 8, 2024, one week after 2-inch hail on April 1. Hail that size can crack unrated shingles and dent metal. Plenty of Boyd roofs got replaced after those storms, and the ones that weren't inspected are worth a look. See storm inspections.
Building a barndo near Boyd? [CONFIRM: barndominiums & shops: do you roof them only, or also build/frame metal buildings?]
