Metal, specialty shingles and full siding replacement in Montague
From our Bridgeport office we take on whole-roof and whole-house projects in Montague and across Montague County. Older homes and established streets around Montague are where slate-look and shake-look shingles and full siding replacement change the look of a house the most.
- Specialty and designer shingles. Designer and luxury shingles and slate-look and shake-look shingles for homes where the roof is part of the look.
- Standing seam and other metal. 26-gauge standing seam, plus 26-gauge R-panel, stone-coated steel and metal shingles and tile. We form our standing seam panels in-house on our own roll formers and standing seam machine, and our own crew installs them.
- Premium shingle systems. Impact-rated shingle systems from the manufacturers we're certified with (GAF, CertainTeed, Owens Corning and Atlas). Class 3 is our minimum and Class 4 is available, with TDI Form PC068 for your insurer. Credits vary by company.
- Full siding replacement. Whole-house siding replacement, done with the roof, gutters, soffit and fascia in one project when you want everything to match.
Snow Roofing & Exteriors is A+ rated on the BBB. We do repair leaks and storm damage near Montague too, and if a repair is all your roof needs, we'll tell you that first. See storm & hail inspections.
The county seat the railroad skipped
The town of Montague (not the county) sits on State Highways 59 and 175 near the center of Montague County. TSHA says it was established in 1858 on 160 acres donated by the state and named for Daniel Montague, and that its newspaper began in 1874. When the railroads built through Bowie and Nocona instead, local leaders tried to save the county seat from isolation with an independent line. About eight miles of track were laid before the money ran out. Montague incorporated in 1886 and voted to unincorporate by 1900, and TSHA puts its population near 400 from 1990 to 2000.
It's a small county seat in big ranch country. Most of the roofs around it are ranch houses, barns, shops and the occasional barndominium.
