Trophy Club sits in one of DFW's busiest hail areas
NOAA's Storm Events Database lists 56 reports of hail 1.75 inches (golf-ball size) or larger within about 10 miles of Trophy Club from 2016 through September 2026. The largest was 4.25-inch hail on June 11, 2023 near Bartonville, about 4.7 miles away, and the same storm dropped 4-inch hail near Grapevine Reservoir. That's a lot more big-hail reports than most of the towns we serve, and it's why so many Trophy Club owners ask about roofs that hold up better than a standard shingle.
Standing seam isn't hail-proof. Large hail can dent it. But a metal roof doesn't lose granules or crack like an aging shingle, and it usually keeps the water out after storms that would mean a full shingle tear-off. If a storm does come through, call us for a free on-roof inspection. Every inspection comes with a free digital photo report, so you see what we see.
A golf community with a plan from the start
Trophy Club began in 1973, when Houston developers brought the Westlake council a plan for an upscale community built around a country club and a golf course designed by Ben Hogan. Today it has about 13,700 residents (Census estimate). Homes range from the original golf-course neighborhoods to newer sections, and most are under HOA guidelines. Standing seam in a muted color, or as an accent over a porch or entry, usually fits those rules well. We bring color charts and product sheets for your HOA submittal.
Snap-lock or mechanically seamed?
Most homes get snap-lock panels, which lock together without a seaming tool. Low-pitch sections or very long runs often call for mechanically seamed panels, which are folded shut on the roof for a tighter seal. We explain the difference in snap-lock vs. mechanical lock.
Why on-site forming matters for Trophy Club roofs
Many Trophy Club roofs have long rafters over great rooms and multiple hips and valleys. Because we run the roll former in your driveway, each panel runs the full length of its roof plane, with no end laps to leak and no waiting on an outside shop. See panels roll-formed to length.
What a Trophy Club metal roof includes
- Tear-off and a deck check, with rotten decking replaced as needed
- High-temperature synthetic underlayment
- New flashing at every wall, chimney, valley and pipe
- Hidden fasteners under the seam
- A final walk-through and a magnet sweep for screws and nails
If you file an insurance claim, we document the damage and meet your adjuster on the roof. Texas law requires you to pay your deductible, and a contractor may not waive, absorb or rebate it. We never will.
