Why Southlake owners ask about Enviroshake
Southlake has about 31,175 residents (2025 Census estimate) and is closely tied to Carroll ISD. Lots of families stay in their homes for the long haul, which is a good reason to pick a roof for how long it will last, not just the lowest price. Composite shake and slate come up often when an HOA wants the cedar or slate look without the upkeep of wood or the weight of stone — and when owners do not want another 15- to 25-year shingle cycle.
Blake Snow is a certified Enviroshake installer and Enviroshake representative. Enviroshake advertises that its products must be installed by a Factory Trained Installer and registered to qualify for the manufacturer's transferable 50-year limited lifetime material warranty. We install to Enviroshake's guide and handle the registration paperwork.

A real Enviroshake project we already completed
Our crews put Enviroshake on a roughly 25,000 sq ft ranch estate in Clay County, paired with standing seam metal we formed in-house on the board-and-batten wing and low-slope sections. The hardest part of a roof like that is the transitions: shake to metal, hips, a chimney and a glass gable entry. Southlake homes with porch accents, guest houses and metal details often need the same kind of detailing.
Hail around Southlake
NOAA's Storm Prediction Center logged 1-inch hail northwest of Grapevine on May 22, 2026 and along Hwy 114 in Grapevine on June 2, 2026, right next to Southlake. NOAA's Storm Events Database also lists 4-inch hail near Grapevine Reservoir on June 11, 2023. Enviroshake publishes a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating for qualifying products — the highest class under that test. No roof is hail-proof, but Class 4 is the top rating. After a qualifying install we complete TDI Form PC068 for your insurer. If you file an insurance claim, we document the damage and meet your adjuster on the roof. Texas law requires you to pay your deductible, and a contractor may not waive, absorb or rebate it. We never will.
Southlake permits and HOA packets
The City of Southlake requires a building permit to replace a roof. Its February 2026 guidelines say the contractor must be registered with the city, the permit is filed online, the permit card has to be posted where it's visible from the road, and a final inspection is required. Most Southlake HOAs also want product sheets, colors and ratings before they approve a composite roof. We put that packet together for your architectural committee.
