What Decatur's growth means for commercial roofs
Decatur's population grew from about 6,554 in the 2020 base to an estimated 9,029 in 2025. New retail and offices are going up, and buildings around the square and along the highway are aging. That creates two kinds of commercial roof work: getting new buildings' roofs maintained properly from the start, and deciding what to do with older roofs that have been patched for years.
For property managers and owners
If you manage more than one building, you need clear information you can act on. For each roof we give you:
- A free digital photo report showing the membrane, seams, flashings, drains, curbs and rooftop units.
- A plain recommendation: repair, restore or replace, and why.
- A written scope you can share with ownership or a board.
- One point of contact and our own crew, not a rotating set of subs.
Low-slope systems
TPO is the most common replacement membrane we install on low-slope roofs. It's white, reflective and has heat-welded seams. Modified bitumen stands up to foot traffic and suits many older buildings. PVC fits restaurants and other spots with grease exposure. We also repair EPDM.
The parapet work in the photos is from a flat-roof job about six miles east of Decatur: TPO carried up and over the parapet walls with formed corners. Parapets, scuppers and wall flashings are where most low-slope leaks start, so that's where we spend our time. See the TPO project east of Decatur.
Coatings: when they make sense
A silicone or other restoration coating can add years to a roof that is dry and structurally sound, without a tear-off. It's the wrong choice over wet insulation or a membrane that's falling apart, and we'll tell you if that's your situation. See TPO vs. mod-bit vs. coating.
Metal buildings
For metal buildings and shops we re-screw, reseal, re-flash, coat or re-roof with 26-gauge panels formed on our own roll formers. See commercial metal roofing.
Storms and emergencies
NOAA recorded 2-inch hail at Decatur in 2017 and 3-inch hail at Boyd, seven miles south, in April 2024. Hail can bruise membranes and crack flashings in ways that only show up later as leaks. We answer storm and leak calls 24/7, so call (817) 733-9228 any time. Texas law requires you to pay your insurance deductible, and a contractor may not waive, absorb or rebate it. We never will. We also aren't public adjusters: we document the damage, meet your adjuster on the roof, and build our scope from what we actually find.
Warranty
Every commercial job carries a 10-year transferable workmanship warranty. Qualifying projects can also carry 10- to 20-year NDL manufacturer warranties.

Commercial warranty: a 10-year transferable workmanship warranty, plus 10- to 20-year NDL (no-dollar-limit) manufacturer warranties. Manufacturer coverage depends on the product and brand, and on the project qualifying for that manufacturer's program. We put the exact warranty for your roof in writing.
